Time Machine

All the necessary ingredients for a great film were there yet it tasted horrible. What happened? The film's release date was pushed back twice, you'd think this H.G. Wells classic would be a block buster hit! But no, it never came close.

That's not to say that Guy Pearce was at fault . His acting was great as usual, however the rest of the cast didn't quite hit the mark. Jeremy Irons seemed dull and medicated. Samantha Bumba was difficult to take serious as a primitive woman of the future. And the Morlocks, well, I guess they achieved their goal.

The movie should have been longer. Instead it seemed rushed and forced. I wanted to see more preparation and trouble shooting of the time machine. It worked perfectly the first go around, go figure. The time elapsed sequences were well done but unfortunately not strong enough to carry the whole film. If you enjoy special effects with no story have a look. If not wait for the rental.
